Coochiemudlo Island's
original bush volunteers
For nearly thirty years Bushcare has been weeding, watering and planting out the bush blocks behind our beaches. Our little island's greatest asset is its natural beauty. Bushcare volunteers give something back to nature by meeting for a few hours each month to maintain Coochiemudlo's authentic native landscape.

TREES FOR WEEDS!

Saturday 19th is our October working bee which features our annual free trees for weeds swap. Island residents are invited to fill a bucket with weeds and bring it down to Main Beach between 8.30 and 10.00am. Here's the Native Nursery's quick guide to the worst weeds on the island. You'll have no trouble finding some.

On the 19th bring your weeds down to the small pavillion table on the foreshore near the Anzac Memorial on Main Beach. Then choose from our display of free native plants that will grow beautifully in any island garden.

We'll be working on a nearby Bushcare block, where we'd like to show you what we do. It's a healthy and rewarding way to give something back to our community.
Please send us an email if you'd like to receive our newsletter or phone 0490050208 for any information about Bushcare on Coochiemudlo Island. We'd love to hear from you.
